The Recharge Infusion

Recharge

Hydration · Energy · Recovery

Recharge is our active-lifestyle blend: a litre of IV fluids paired with a vitamin B-complex and magnesium, delivered at your home, workplace or hotel anywhere in the Waikato. It's the infusion clients book around hard training weeks, long rides, race days and big weekends outdoors — a straightforward top-up of fluid and electrolytes for people who push themselves and want to feel more like themselves the next day.

Like everything we do, Recharge is paramedic-led from start to finish. A registered paramedic brings everything to you, places a small IV line, and stays with you for the whole appointment — you simply settle in while the infusion runs.

What's in the bag

What's in Recharge

Every Recharge infusion is prepared on site from three simple components. Here's what each one actually is — described plainly, without overblown claims.

IV Fluids

A sterile sodium chloride (saline) solution — the same IV fluid used in New Zealand hospitals and ambulances every day. Given through a small line in a vein in your arm, it delivers fluid and electrolytes directly into your bloodstream rather than through the gut.

Vitamin B Complex

A blend of water-soluble B-group vitamins. The B group plays a well-documented role in the body's normal energy metabolism — they're the vitamins your body uses when converting food into usable energy — and because they're water-soluble, they aren't stored long-term.

Magnesium

A mineral and electrolyte involved in normal muscle and nerve function. It's one of the electrolytes the body loses through sweat — which is exactly why it earns its place in an active-lifestyle blend.

Who books it

When clients book Recharge

There's no single 'right' reason to book — but these are the situations Recharge clients tend to describe.

Training blocks & race days

Endurance riders, runners and gym regulars often book Recharge during a heavy training week, or in the days after an event, as part of how they look after themselves through hard efforts.

Long weeks and long shifts

Shift workers, farmers and busy professionals use Recharge as a deliberate pause — an hour at home to stop, rehydrate and reset partway through a demanding stretch.

Big weekends outdoors

Tramping, boating, festivals, a weekend on the tools — days in the sun are days of fluid loss. Recharge is a simple way to top the tank back up afterwards.

Everyday wellbeing

Plenty of clients simply like the ritual: an unhurried appointment, a chat with an experienced clinician, and an hour to themselves. That counts too.

What to expect

How your appointment works

From booking to the final set of observations, here's the shape of a Recharge appointment — simple, unhurried and entirely at home.

Step 1

Book online & complete screening

Pick a time that suits you and complete a short health questionnaire. Every booking is individually reviewed by a clinician before it's confirmed — and may be declined on clinical grounds. That's a feature, not a hurdle.

Step 2

Your consultation

Every visit starts with a conversation. Your paramedic talks through how you're feeling and what you'd like from the appointment, checks your baseline observations, and confirms Recharge is right for you on the day.

Step 3

The infusion, at home

Your paramedic places a small IV line in a vein in your arm and the infusion runs over roughly 45–60 minutes. There's nothing to prepare — no fasting, no downtime. Read, work, or just put your feet up.

Step 4

Monitored throughout

You're monitored before, during and after the infusion, with a short observation period at the end — the same clinical habits your paramedic brings from ambulance practice.

Good to know

The practical details

Allow about 90 minutes

The infusion itself typically runs 45–60 minutes; with consultation, set-up and observation, plan for an appointment of around 90 minutes.

We come to you

Home, office or hotel across Cambridge, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Morrinsville, Raglan and the wider Waikato — tell us your location when you book and we'll confirm.

Payment

Recharge is $320, paid securely online once a clinician approves your booking. Eftpos and credit card, bank transfer, or Afterpay on enquiry.

Screening comes first

Services subject to clinical suitability and screening. Recharge is a wellness service, not a medical treatment, and isn't a substitute for seeing your GP — or calling 111 in an emergency.

Questions

Recharge FAQs

How long does a Recharge appointment take?

Plan for around 90 minutes all up. The infusion itself usually runs 45–60 minutes, with the rest spent on your consultation, set-up and a short observation period afterwards.

Do I need a blood test before Recharge?

No blood tests are required for Recharge. (Our Recovery and Defender infusions do require a one-off G6PD blood test and a recent kidney function result, because of the dose of vitamin C they contain — Recharge doesn't include vitamin C.)

Does it hurt?

You'll feel a brief sting as the small IV line is placed — most people describe it as similar to a blood test. Once the line is in, the infusion itself is comfortable and most clients simply relax.

How do I book Recharge specifically?

Book online and choose 'Hydration & wellness support' as your consultation topic — or just mention Recharge to your paramedic. Every visit starts with a consultation so your clinician can confirm the right option for you on the day.

Can I eat and drink beforehand?

Yes — there's no fasting required. Have a normal meal and carry on with your day before and after your appointment.
